Soufflearning 2 - Expanding the innovative approach of On-the-job Training and Qualification for small and very small companies

A project team of 8 European institutions is developing the Soufflearning 2- Expanding the innovative approach of On-the-job Training and Qualification for small and very small companies.

As the ongoing lifelong training is a major key to professional success the Soufflearning  2 project has been born in order to help the SMEs and their employees which face fierce concurrence and are forced to become more professional in their performances. Therefore the demands on the employees have increased considerably. Yet, many SMEs cannot afford to release staff for training due to the low level staff coverage. Moreover, the benefit of external training courses is often only marginal for SMEs since training in large groups is hardly fitted to the needs of each participant and as a result usually not immediately applicable.

A training concept for SMEs that is tailored to the requests of the staff that needs to be trained is one of the endorsed approaches. This training concept should allow quick adaptations in training contents when other deficits in skills of the trained person discussed show up during the training sessions.

Following the successful experiences of implementing Soufflearning – a face to face training methodology on the workplace – in 4 different regions in Europe (France, the Czech Republic, Italy and an additional region in Germany) now  through the Soufflearning 2 project the application of this methodology will be expanded to 5 more European regions in Spain, Greece and Bulgaria.

The project utility lies on the need of SMEs to raise their employees’ competences, flexibility and, thus, the employees' chances on the labour market and the company's efficiency of labour.

To get there, the project aims at

1) the improvement of the common methodological guide from the last soufflearning experience which will be added by specific additional examples from different fields fo application

2) the return of experiences and  analysis of variance with the objective, taking into account the experiences from expanding the application of the methodology to larger companies

3) the common development of the strategic guide (recommendation/good practice) to disseminate the method.
