The Management of Volunteers Training Programme is developed and certified by “PNE Group”, UK. The “PNE Group” is a social enterprise, providing enterprise and economic development consultancy in north east England, nationally and internationally. Since 1980, the PNE Group has been designing, building and managing innovative projects that help enterprising people and communities develop their ideas. Working with business, government, and the third sector, we undertake consultancy assignments, training and development projects, evaluation and feasibility studies, strategic planning research and consultancy work. A special accent in their work is put over the possibilities for support of third sector organizations.
The course that was adapted and will be delivered in Bulgaria is developed as part of a flagship programme of the organization aimed at building capacity in voluntary organizations in England. In the delivered by that moment over 400 accredited vocational managerial qualifications took part over 2400 managers from 1100 organizations.
The course is based on the best practices in that area and is aimed at building managerial capacity in the sector and overcoming the difficulties, which might be faced by managerial teams during the recruitment, selection and motivation of the volunteers in their organizations.
The main themes included in the training programme are:
- Introduction to the Management of Volunteers Programme and the opportunities for obtaining a certificate;
- Legal, ethical and social aspects of the management of volunteers;
- Motivation, recruitment and selection of volunteers;
- Creating a positive working environment;
- Developing productive working relationships;
- Methods of training volunteers in the work environment;
- Best practices exchange
The course is aimed at people occupying managerial positions in third sector organizations (associations, foundations) willing to develop their expertise in management of volunteers.
The Management of Volunteers Training Programme consists of six one-day sessions, which will be held on 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 November 2010. The training team consists of highly qualified specialists with solid academic background and long term practical experience with the Bulgarian third sector.
The interactive delivery methods and the variety of the included information make the event appropriate both for beginning and experienced managers of volunteers.
The pilot courses will be provided free of charge to 15 persons. All seats will be filled out on the “first come – first served” basis.
